BACHELOR OF COMMERCE

The Bachelor of Commerce (B.COM) degree programme of Koitaleel Samoei Universitry College prepares undergraduate students for careers in busines management both in public and private sectors. The programme is aligned to the changing needs of the society. The options offered under this programme are:

The programme is offered in both Module I and Module II. Flexible schedules and admission requirements catering for varied academic and professional qualifications make the programme more accessible. The programme aims to:

  • Enhance self-confidence and ability to critically evaluate management issues from academic and practical perspectives.
  • Develop awareness of the changing local and international business environment.
  • Prepare students for advancement in their fields of specialization.
  • Instil problem-solving attitude and busdiness ethics in the practices of management. 
  • Inculcate entrepreneurial and self-reliance attitudes and habits in students so that they may be active participants in the creation of new wealth.
  1. Admission will be on the basis of academic qualifications and more specifically will be governed by any one of the following Senate approved regulation:
  2. The common regulations of the bachelor’s degree of the University of Nairobi shall be applicable.
  3. Holder of KCSE certificate with a minimum aggregate of c+ and a minimum of C in both Mathematics and English/Kiswahili or minimum grade of B in bridging course offered in the University of Nairobi with at least a C- in the subject at KCSE.
  4. Holder of KCSE (mean grade C-) plus a Certificate and Diploma from a recognized institution
  5. Holder of KACE certificate with a minimum of two principal passes and a minimum of a credit pass in Mathematics at KCE.
  6. Holder of a degree from a recognized university.
  7. Holder of a diploma from a University of Nairobi Senate recognized institution and a minimum aggregate of C at KCSE or o-level Division III.
  8. Holder of CPA/CPS Part II or equivalent professional qualification with a minimum aggregate of C at KCSE or O-Level Division III
  9. Holder of qualifications deemed to be equivalent to any of the above.

The B.Com programme will run for a minimum of eigt (8) semesters and a maximum of twenty four (24) semesters from the date of registration. One calendar year has three (3) semesters and each semester has fifteen (15) weeks
