Dr. Patrick S. Cheben is a Kenyan citizen a holder of a Doctoral Degree in Curriculum Studies and Master’s in the same field from the University of Nairobi. His undergraduate studies, a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts is from Urbaniana University. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from The National University of Ireland.
Dr. Patrick is a scholar and researcher with Broad-Fields knowledge and background ranging from Philosophy, Religion, History, Education and Research as demonstrated in diverse research and Consultancy in Curriculum Studies, Education and Management science.
He has taught both in private and public sectors ranging from secondary, Teacher Training College and University levels over the previous twenty-five years (25). Besides he has extensive experience as a manager in various private and public institutions in Turkana where he was a co-founder of Turkana Girls Secondary School. He co-founded Kapenguria, Kitale and Eldoret Learning Centres of the College of Education and External Studies, University of Nairobi.
Additionally, he served as a lead researcher and trainer of data collectors with the Ministry of Education in the Competency Based Curriculum under Promin Consultancy in the Early Grade Mathematics Assessment (EGMA) in 2018. In Management Science, he was a coordinator of the Nation-wide Survey of Co-operatives in Kenya, coordinating five Counties – Nandi, Uasin Gishu, Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet and Trans-Nzoia in 2020 in the Ministry of Co-operatives. He has published widely in the field of Education and Management and supervised over 40 Postgraduate research. He served as Board member in several educational institutions where his knowledge of National Policies in Educational Management was highly valued in institutions of service. He has extensive experience as a lecturer, examiner and supervisor in Curriculum Studies, and in Educational research and management science. Currently he is writing a book titled ‘Emerging Curriculum: Theory and Practice’. This piece of work is in addition to several own and co- authored articles in referred journals. As a trainer, Curriculum Developer, researcher, manager and consultant his passion is to mentor novice educationists, educational managers and practitioners. He is keen in securing a curriculum which is responsive to the needs of learners in institutions of higher learning and industry and to the ever-changing dynamic nature of humankind.
