It was both an exciting and emotional event as the founding administrators of Koitaleel Samoei University College gave their last address to the KSUC staff. This follows the end of tenure after an exemplary service delivery at the very formative stage of the University College.
Prof. Gideon Misoi joined the foundation process of the Proposed Koitaleel Samoei University College and has seen its establishment through the gazzetment and eventual commencement of operations in 2017. His leadership ensured activities in Nandi-Hills and Mosoriot Campuses were kick-started. This led to the admission of first cohort of students in 2019. Working hand-in-hand with seconded staff from the University of Nairobi, he oversaw the establishment of the Schools of Business and Education that has since enrolled over 350 students in two intakes.
With guidance by the University College Council, he has also continuously built the human resource and finally recruited essential permanent academic and administrative staff. He leaves an impressive development record having improved the infrastructure in Mosoriot Campus to desirable standards. His zeal to create linkages, partnerships and strategic collaborations has greatly enhanced the standing of KSUC to international standards.
He leaves KSUC with a better present and a bright future in the hands of Prof. Jackson Too who comes in with a wealth of experience form Commission for University Education. The incoming Ag. Principal will deputized by Prof. Winston Akala seconded from the UoN and have served in various government assignments including being a Council Member in Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD). Ms.Brenda Simiyu is currently serving as the Deputy Registrar in charge of Planning and Strategy in the Principal's Office.
Prof. Gideon Misoi heads back to the University of Nairobi after serving extremely well on secondment.
