School Overview

Brief background/history of the school

The School of Business was established with a clear mandate to provide high-quality, market-driven academic programs that equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required in today’s dynamic business environment. The School admitted its inaugural cohort in September 2019, welcoming five (5) Bachelor of Commerce students placed by the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) alongside sixteen (16) Master of Business Administration (MBA) students. This marked the beginning of a steady and strategic growth trajectory.

In the 2023/2024 academic year, the School expanded its academic portfolio with the launch of the Bachelor of Project Planning and Management program, admitting its first cohort of twelve (12) students. This expansion reflected the School’s responsiveness to evolving industry needs and its commitment to offering programs aligned with national and global development priorities.

Over the years, the School has experienced consistent growth in enrollment and academic offerings. By the 2025/2026 academic year, the student population had grown to at least 190 students, demonstrating increasing confidence in the School’s programs and academic standards.

Looking ahead, the School is poised for further expansion. In the 2026/2027 academic year, it plans to launch three additional undergraduate programs and two postgraduate programs to meet rising market demand and broaden academic opportunities for prospective students.

The School of Business prides itself on a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members, supported by a dedicated administrative staff. Together, they foster a collaborative and student-centered learning environment that promotes excellence in teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement. Through this commitment, the School continues to strengthen its position as a center of academic distinction and professional development.
