BRENDA CHEROP – THE MOST OUTSTANDING FEMALE KSUSA LEADER

Brenda Cherop is thrilled to have the opportunity to share her journey as a former outstanding Vice Chairperson during the time at Koitaleel Samoei University College. Throughout her tenure she worked hard to make a positive impact in KSUC community.

Brenda embarked on her academic journey at Koitaleel Samoei University College in 2019, pursuing Bachelor of Education in Arts, History and Religion. Before that, her journey started at Cardinal Otunga Girls High School in Bungoma County, where she developed a passion for education and its transformative power. This passion led her to choose education as field of study at the university.

During the time at Koitaleel, she achieved notable accomplishments, one of which was being part of the team that drafted the Koitaleel Samoei University Students’ Association (KSUSA) Constitution. This task required meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of the school’s values and principles. She collaborated with other students and staff to create a comprehensive and inclusive document that would guide the association’s operations and uphold the rights and responsibilities of its members.

Looking ahead, as a future teacher, her goals are centered on making a meaningful impact in the field of education. She aspires to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to think critically, explore new ideas, and develop their skills to their fullest potential. Aims to promote inclusivity and diversity, foster a love for lifelong learning, and stay updated with the latest research and advancements in the field.

Throughout academic journey, she learned valuable lessons that believe it can benefit current and future students which include setting clear goals, managing time effectively, taking advantage of university resources, actively engaging in class, developing effective study habits, seeking guidance and building relationships, embracing a growth mindset, taking care of well-being, and embracing opportunities beyond the classroom.

She immensely grateful to the College Administration for creating an environment that supports growth and learning and extend her deepest appreciation to the former Dean of Students Dr. Paul Ekeno Ejore for his exceptional leadership and dedication to the well-being and gratitude to her fellow students for their inspiration, collaboration, and friendship throughout these transformative years.
