Prof. Jepkemboi Ruth Choge is a distinguished academic leader and a scholar in educational administration and leadership. She is an associate professor of educational administration and leadership and currently serves as the Acting Deputy Principal of Koitaleel Samoei University College (KSUC), a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi. She holds a PhD in Educational Administration from Moi University, Master of Education in Educational Administration and Bachelor of Education both from the University of Nairobi.

Prof. Choge has a wealth of experience in management, leadership and academia, having worked in various academic institutions, notably as Director of the School of Education at KSUC from 2021 to 2025. Earlier in her career, she served as Head of the Education Department at Bomet University College from 2019 to 2021, as Dean of the School of Education at Maasai Mara University from 2015 to 2017, as Director of the Board of Postgraduate Studies Office from 2014 to 2015, and as Director of the Bomet Campus of Maasai Mara University from 2013 to 2014. This significantly contributed to capacity-building in teacher education, educational governance, and internationalization of higher education by spearheading regional and global student and faculty mobility activities and frameworks.

Her research portfolio includes works on educational leadership and governance, performance appraisal, gender and leadership in education, social protection in education, and education and technology. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences.

Through her expertise, Prof. Choge has supported many national and international initiatives. Nationally, she has participated in community services on disability and gender mainstreaming as the university champion and liaison to the community; she supported Nandi County in the office of the Nandi County Member of Parliament as the Chairperson of the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (2020-2022). Gender Working Group and currently a member of Nandi County Education Board.

Internationally, she has also worked with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) since 2019 in National Research Institute on Research and Reporting on Conflict Early Warning and Early Response Mechanism on Social Issues, including but not limited to Health, Education, Gender, Pastoralism, Culture in the IGAD region.  The goal is to facilitate early response and promote a peaceful environment conducive to shared prosperity and sustainable development. 

She is affiliated with professional bodies, namely the Kenya Association of Educational Administration and Management (KAEM), Forum for African Women Educationists (FAWE) Kenya Chapter. Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa (OSSREA) and The African Network for Internationalization of Education (ANIE)

Prof.  Choge’s personal philosophy is transformational leadership and continuous incremental improvement, focusing on change for the better. She is known for her inspiring and visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to positive and impactful change and advancement in society, championing regional initiatives that promote cultural diversity, dialogue, peacebuilding, and inclusivity.
