KSUC AND NOCK SIGN MOU TO ESTABLISH OLYMPAFRICA YOUTH CENTRE AT MOSORIOT CAMPUS
Koitaleel Samoei University College (KSUC) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK) to facilitate the development of an OlympAfrica Youth Centre at the KSUC Mosoriot Campus in Nandi County.
The MoU was signed by Prof Winston Akala, the Principal of Koitaleel Samoei University College, and Mr. Shadrack Muluki, the President of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya, marked a significant milestone in advancing sports development, youth empowerment, and Olympic education in the region.
The proposed OlympAfrica Youth Centre will feature state-of-the-art facilities, including a 400-metre running track, football and rugby fields, an indoor gymnasium, multipurpose courts, a swimming pool, hostels, a cultural and educational centre, as well as a health and rehabilitation facility. These facilities are designed to support talent identification and development, sports science research, academic training, and meaningful community engagement.
Beyond infrastructure, the initiative seeks to promote Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect, while fostering innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability in sports and youth development. The partnership positions KSUC as a national and regional hub for sports science, Olympic education, and youth empowerment, strengthening collaboration between academic institutions and Olympic bodies.
The project is expected to have a far-reaching impact by nurturing young talent, enhancing community participation in sports, and contributing to Kenya’s long-term vision of developing world-class athletes and sports professionals.
