Prof. Rose Ruto-Korir is the Ag. Deputy Principal, Koitaleel Samoei University College. She has a Bachelor of Education Arts (Moi University), Master of Philosophy in Educational Psychology (Moi University), and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Pretoria in South Africa. She is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology, with over 28 years’ experiencein higher education, as an academic,researcher and as a teacher -educator in Kenya.She has previously served as an Associate Dean in the School of Education, and as a Director in the Institute of Open Distance Learning (IODL) at Moi University.She has published widely in peer reviewed journals, contributed book chapters, andpresented in international conferences, and workshops in the subject discipline. In addition, she has supervised and examined Master and Doctoral theses for universities across the region.She sits in the editorial Board of the South African Journal of Education. She has also consulted for Commonwealth of Learning (COL), The South African National Research Foundation (NRF), and The Commission for University Education-Kenya, among others. Additionally, Rose has reviewed articles for various top tier journals, including the Journal of Psychology in Africa, Journal of Research in Childhood Education, South African Journal of Education, and Social Change (Journal). Lately, her interests in Psychology of Learning interface with use of technology in online learning in higher education. She has led two projects: The development of the Centre of Competence in Digital Education, and the Employability Skills framework in Higher Education, both at Moi University. Previously Rose sat in the Management Board of the Kenya Education Network (KENET), the National Research and Education Network (NREN) of Kenya, which is a not-for-profit membership operator incorporated to support research and education institutions. Her latest book chapter focuses on the ‘Use of social media in higher education’, in the forthcoming ‘Sage Handbook for Online Higher Education’ (https://us.sagepub.com/en-us/nam/the-sage-handbook-of-online-higher-education/book281802). Her Professional Affiliates include the \International Society for Theoretical Psychology, and the Association for Faculty Enrichment in Learning and Teaching (AFELT), among others. Beyond academia, at the Community, Prof. Rose Ruto-Korir actively contributes to strategic school Leadership through Boards of Management, and to Lay leadership in the Church Council. She is a Commissioned Member of the Catholic Women Association of the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret.
