Prof. Rev. Josphat Kipkoech Yego

Educational Administration, International Development & Faith-Based Leadership

Prof. Rev. Josphat Kipkoech Yego is a distinguished scholar, administrator, and faith leader with more than 40 years of service in higher education management, international development, and theological leadership. He holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration (Administration and Finance – Higher Education) from Illinois State University, alongside advanced graduate degrees from Bethel Theological Seminary and Wheaton College.

Prof. Yego has served in senior leadership positions across major public and private universities in Kenya and abroad. His contributions include steering institutional transitions, strengthening governance systems, and developing academic programmes across Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Kenyatta University, University of Nairobi, and Daystar University. Internationally, he has worked with Illinois State University, World Vision International, Compassion International, Eastern University, and Penn State University, and served as a visiting professor at Stellenbosch University, South Africa, for nearly two decades.

His scholarship includes several publications in multicultural education, theology, and higher education policy, alongside leadership of key academic initiatives such as the Nandi Bible second edition (2015). Prof. Yego has also held significant roles in board governance, including chairing the Governing Council of Scott Theological College and serving on boards of major educational and faith-based institutions.

He is an ordained minister of the Africa Inland Church (AIC), licensed in 1991 and ordained in 2003, and has served as Director of Development International Associates (Developmentia) Kenya since 2011.

Prof. Yego was appointed Chairman of the Council of Koitaleel Samoei University College on July 25, 2025 for a three-year term. His extensive experience in university governance, educational administration, and international engagement positions him to provide strong strategic leadership as he guides the institution into its next phase of growth and development.
